What You Need to Know About London’s King’s Cross Neighborhood

As with most neighborhoods in London, King’s Cross is dripping with history. But it’s layered with modernity, too. The King’s Cross train station may be the best example of this cross-section between past and present. The Victorian-era transportation hub has undergone a major update, starring a gorgeous latticed steel dome and open piazza, connecting London to Europe via high-speed Eurostar and transporting a hip vitality to the neighborhood at the same time.

In the place where Roman battles may have taken place, a cool food truck scene has emerged. In the same neighborhood known for classic teas at Fortnum & Mason, you can have inventive cocktails at Granger & Co. The St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel London knows a little something about the neighborhood’s transformation as it was once The Midland Grand Hotel, established in 1873.

Here’s what else you need to know about King’s Cross in one handy, Brit-friendly infographic.
