Watching “The Martian” must have left a big impact on Anton Zaslavski, better known as the DJ Zedd: “I would love to go to space one day. If I end up on Mars I would not love to be left there.”
The Grammy award-winning Russian-German music producer of electro house beats candidly answered fans’ questions, collected by Marriott Rewards, for Vevo’s “Ask:Reply,” as part of a partnership with Universal Music Group.
For the world tour of “True Colors,” Zedd’s largest to date, the 26-year-old crisscrossed Asia, North America and Europe, playing hits like “Beautiful Now,” alongside an impressive roster of special guests like Dillon Francis, Madeon, Alex Metric, Alvin Risk, AlunaGeorge, A-Trak, Steve Aoki, Martin Garrix and What So Not.
If he had to pick one person to travel with, it would most likely be his tour manager, Ken, “because without Ken I would probably not be here and I would never find the next city and never be on the right plane and not have my passport.”
Don’t count on Zedd, who will perform at Coachella, to shave off his beard anytime soon.
“It’s a terrible idea,” he says, “because I would look 16 and probably be kicked out of the clubs.”
