After soaking in all of the city’s Americana, you’ll want to relax and refuel by sucking down some of the city’s best breakfast bites. From Green Eggs to dim sum, Philly does not disappoint, especially when you brunch for sport.
Green Eggs Café is a Philadelphia breakfast gem, a favorite with locals and out-of-towners, maybe because of its fresh, locally sourced menu focused on sustainability and, most importantly, over-the-top yumminess.
Green Eggs serves up five different kinds of eggs Benedict: besides the classic, there’s the Chicken & Waffles Benedict (with hot-sauce hollandaise; yep, it’s as good as it sounds), the Short Rib Benedict and the Sliced Lox Benedict.
If you’ve got a sweet tooth, check out the Cookie Dough Stuffed French Toast and the ever popular Red Velvet Pancakes.
Can’t decide? Try the “Kitchen Sink” skillet, where the eggs are scrambled with sausage, Gruyere, potatoes, peppers and onions, all topped with a homemade biscuit and country-style sausage gravy.
Locals love Sabrina’s Café for its seriously laid-back vibe and seriously scrumptious dishes.
When Robert and Raquel DeAbreu opened the original in 2001, they wanted to create a place that had the cozy feel of dining in a friend’s home, and Sabrina’s nails it.
Choose from egg sandwiches, omelets, frittatas and house-made granola, and that just scratches the surface; the menu is extensive with great lunch options, as well.
Feeling indulgent? Try the Stuffed Challah French Toast. The Bleu Cheese and Bacon Frittata is also worth a taste. And if you’re a late sleeper, you’re in luck; at Sabrina’s, breakfast is served all day.
This adorable, corner spot is new to Philly but sure to be an instant classic.
The food pays homage to the Dutch roots of one owner and the Pennsylvania Dutch roots of the other with a focused and creative menu.
And best of all, they offer a sweet and a savory version of a Dutch Baby — a pancake made in a cast-iron skillet (it balloons over the top when cooked) with a custard-like consistency inside — the savory includes smoked sausage and the sweet has lemon and maple syrup.
