WHEN TO GO

Orlando’s theme parks seem to attract constant crowds and come with steep prices, particularly during Christmas, New Year’s and spring break holidays. Downtown Orlando is less touristy and good to visit any time of year, though summer brings extreme heat and humidity.

NEED TO KNOW

Visas: Travelers from outside the United States will need a valid passport, as well as ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) eligibility or a full visa. 
Money: Currency is U.S. dollars and ATMs are widely available. 
Travel Health: Travelers (including U.S. citizens) should check for vaccinationproof of negative COVID-19 test and face mask requirements, as well as any travel restrictions before planning their trip. Before traveling, research and prepare for what to do if you get sick while away. GETTING AROUND

Getting Here: Orlando is served by Orlando International Airport (MCO). Amtrak’s Silver Service/Palmetto route serves Orlando and Kissimmee. 
Getting Around: Many resorts offer transportation to major theme parks; if yours does not, or you wish to explore further, renting a car is your best bet.
