Animal rescue groups reported a huge boom in pet adoptions last year, and with remote work becoming more widespread than ever, the idea of working from anywhere — with your four-legged BFF curled up at your feet — is a growing trend.
Luckily, many hotels participating in Marriott Bonvoy around the globe will welcome both of you with special amenities and treats, like pet-friendly menu items and bedding to keep you both comfy. Here are some hotels ready to roll out the red carpet for both two- and four-legged guests.
As always, check for travel restrictions and closures before planning your trip.
London: Sheraton Grand London Park Lane
London’s most dog-friendly bar is located at the 1920s-era, art deco Sheraton Grand London Park Lane in Mayfair, just a short walk from Buckingham Palace and facing Green Park.
The bar, Smith & Whistle, features the city’s first permanent drinks list designed specifically for doggos. The “Dogtails” menu includes libations like the Hound’s Hops, a specially brewed dog-friendly beer with fresh mint; the Poochie Colada, combining coconut water, kale and broccoli for glossy coats and healthy joints; or the Posh Pooch, an herbal “wine” made from ginseng, elderflower, nettle, lime flower and carrot.
Asheville, NC: Aloft Asheville Downtown
Aloft Asheville Downtown‘s special partnership with a local organization, Charlie’s Angels Animal Rescue, brings a precious pup on property — and into the arms of guests and visitors.
A resident foster dog lives in a hot-pink “doggy den” in the hotel’s lobby, where it can meet potential adopters and greet incoming guests. If they’re game, hotel guests can take the foster dog for a walk to explore Asheville’s adorable historic center and spend some bonding time together.
Fell in love with the pooch? Fill out the adoption application to ensure you’re a good match, and pay the adoption fee, which goes to benefit Charlie’s Angels and keep the program running.
