The Resort at Pelican Hill

Inspired by the villas of the Italian countryside, The Resort at Pelican Hill melds authentic Italian design and landscape (think olive, cypress, fig and pine trees) with the beauty of the California coast on its secluded perch in Newport Beach, California.

Lanes of Venetian-inspired bungalow-style rooms and suites and secluded extended-stay villas (private estates, each with two to four bedrooms, a kitchen, indoor-outdoor spaces, and access to the Villa Clubhouse) create small neighborhoods. The resort can arrange to stock your villa fridge with your favorite items or set up a special dinner where a chef comes to your villa to prepare a meal with a curated wine pairing. You can stroll scenic pathways surrounded by 100-year-old olive trees that pay homage to Mediterranean influences and discover a nook perfect for an impromptu picnic.

The spa offers unique treatments, like the 90-minute Mosaic Massage, which incorporates inhalation therapy and four different techniques performed by specially trained technicians, and KNESKO Gemstone-Infused Masks to nourish skin.

For golfers, there are two courses designed by legendary golf course designer Tom Fazio — and frequented by the rich and famous — at The Resort at Pelican Hill. The Ocean North course offers dazzling views of the Pacific Ocean from every hole. Reserve a Forecaddie Service and be guided by resident golf experts on the best way to approach each hole and make the most of your time on the course.

Mauna Kea Beach Hotel

Known for having one of the best beaches on the Big Island, Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, Autograph Collection sits on the picturesque stretch of Kohala Coast with soft white sands in Hawaii. The hotel is known for its museum-quality art, which was collected by hotel founder Laurance S. Rockefeller.

The resort’s amenities and experiences include an award-winning luau, eight pickleball courts, Tesla Model 3 rentals, and a GoPro kit experience. Adventurers can book a stargazing or helicopter tour, while those looking to connect with Hawaiian culture can take classes from the hotel’s own Aloha Ambassador.

But the most exclusive experience of all takes place at the on-site Manta Ray Point, where guests can see manta rays glide to find their food. Reserve a Moonlight Snorkel session, a sustainable and magical experience hosted by Manta Ray Advocates.
